Maya Bergstrom
Editor, Hotel Pricing Research ยท Lisbon, Portugal
Maya has spent the last eight years tracking how online travel agencies price the same room differently. Before Hotel Deal Scanner she ran rate-parity research for a boutique hotel group in Lisbon and wrote a weekly newsletter on loyalty programs. She personally books 60+ nights a year and tests every tactic she publishes.
Every comparison post on this blog is grounded in first-hand paired pricing. When a post says "we priced 16 hotels", the raw CSV is linked in the article and you can replicate the check. When we don't have data for a claim, we say so instead of inventing a percentage.
The goal is simple: cut the noise around hotel pricing and tell you exactly which moves drop the bill. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
How we research
- For comparison articles we pull paired prices for the same room on the same dates on each site, in USD, signed out, and publish the raw CSV alongside the post.
- For loyalty programs we cite the operator's own published terms rather than paraphrasing them.
- When we don't have first-hand data we frame the post as a guide and explicitly say what we're not claiming.
- When we recommend a third-party tool we disclose any affiliate relationship inside the post.
